Cathryn's autobiographical one-woman
showBlended Salad is about a young girl who wants more than anything to fit in with the rest of the world, while growing up in an eccentric family. It centers on her Russian immigrant mother who has her own, unusual way of doing things, a woman who has the courage to constantly affirm her truth, regardless of what others think. It’s about wild joy, humanity, and ultimately appreciation for being different.
“A one-woman treat…this svelte blonde’s daffy, unselfconscious charm should win over any audience.” – LA Weekly
Blended Salad was first produced at the McCadden Theatre with Joe Salazar directing. In its next incarnation it was performed at Theater Theatre and then at the Tamarind Theatre, all in Los Angeles.

Audience Reactions to Blended Salad
“That
woman made my entire week. My whole family was blown away. Cathryn
is so warm and real and funny. She made me cry, she made me laugh. This show is
something that everyone can relate to. I’m spreading the word about this show.
I was so moved.” – Jody Roberts Schwartz
“She was terrific. The stories were so wonderful. She did a terrific job engaging the audience. She took me to a world I never knew existed. I thoroughly enjoyed it.” – Greg Phelan
“I loved it. I didn’t stop laughing the whole time. I would love to see it again. I tell you, I don’t think I would ever get tired of seeing it. I’ll come back with a bunch of people.” – Rita Khorshid
"She had us all laughing hysterically! Even Kim Fitzgerald's 4 year old son,
Liam, could not stop laughing! I enjoyed myself so much and was very touched by
her animated sharing of her tough and very unusual upbringing." - Flynn Beck
"My parents spent the ride home repeating lines from her show, laughing again and again, remarking on her ability to transform into all those wonderful characters… As she tells of her mother's affection, her beliefs and her individuality, it teaches all of us amazing lessons; that is to appreciate our families, to give affection, to love, and to eat healthy."- Nadia
"Cathryn’s work is quite unique. I love her mother. A woman that in America had the courage to constantly affirm her truth and what she believes in. A woman that makes no difference between the life of a roach, that of the snow and that of her children. She feels that LIFE is the most important thing, (a quite powerful theme in today's events). A woman that encourages and sustains uniqueness, versus the appropriateness of her children… I love this woman, her spirit." – Pietro Arpessella
“I
so much enjoyed Cathryn’s show. She was awesome, just amazing, a super talent
shining all over the stage.” – Kia Colton
