   Cathryn's Bio and Factoids            

At the age of 11, against her parents' will, Cathryn opened up the Brooklyn Yellow Pages, took her babysitting money on a bus down Flatbush Ave., and enrolled herself in an acting class.  From there she joined an onstage improv group at the age of 13 and went on to NYC's prestigious High School of the Performing Arts. 

She established herself as an actress, having had the fortune to work with some of the greatest talents in the business: Richard Benjamin, Tony Bill, Barry Kemp, Alan Parker, Shirley MacLaine, Sean Penn, Phil Rosenthal, John Patrick Shanley and more.

 

Cathryn has her own autobiographical one-woman show, "Blended Salad" about growing up in her eccentric family. 

 

Cathryn has written two full-length screenplays, “A Fire in Brooklyn ”, and “Saturday Nights” with Reagan Leonard as co-writer. She's in the process of writing her third.

She wrote and directed three short films, while Ivan co-directed the second as well as was cinematographer and editor.

Cathryn produced the Beverly Hills Playhouse Short Film Festival, where she studied with Milton Katselas, Richard Lawson and Gary Imhoff.

Cathryn has been a Nichiren Buddhist since 1985. She chants Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo everyday. Here's a link for info: www.sgi-usa.org

She is married to actor, Brent Brown. They live in Silverlake, California with their cat, Mir.

Cathryn designs jewelry from crystals for healing.

She speaks fluent Russian, can roller skate like nobody's business and can wiggle her eyes, which you can see her do in the film, "Dead Time Stories".
